Description |
---|
When additional assurance is required, the system should deny acceptance of a certificate if it cannot verify its revocation status. Otherwise, there is the potential that it is accepting the credentials of an unauthorized system. Allowing the operating system or user to deny certificates with unverified revocation status mitigates the risk associated with the acceptance of such certificates. |

Check Text ( C-44441r1_chk ) |
---|
Determine if the MDM server includes a mobile email management capability. If no, this requirement is not applicable. If yes, perform the following procedure: Verify the mobile email client gives the user the option to deny acceptance of a certificate if it cannot verify the certificate's revocation status. Talk to the site system administrator and have them confirm this capability exists in the email management client. Also, review the MDM server configuration. If the mobile email client does not give the user the option to deny acceptance of a certificate, or it cannot verify the certificate's revocation status, this is a finding. |
